Drilling Options For a Shorter Pinned T-Road Solid
« on: August 21, 2009, 05:01:09 AM »
Hey everyone.

I just picked up a T-Road solid after I had one crack. The only problem I see is that the pin is shorter. My previous one was a 2-3, this one is a 1.5-2 inch pin. Now I'm concerned as to what sort of drillings I can go with. I'm a higher speed, lower rev stroker who likes to play fairly straight. How should I have this ball punched up for it to get into it's early, heavy roll.

Thanks For The Help.

I have a T-road Solid. Great ball for heavy oil. Though the one I have is a 3"-4" pin, I would suggest you drill it pin down, under or right beside the ring finger.

This definitely gets it into an earlier roll, and it by nature is a rather smooth but deceptively strong piece.

The one I have is pin under ring, with cg kicked right at about 60*

try a type of barbell drilling i drilled a attitude shift like that for my dad who has very little revs and it rolled great for him pin below ring and cg strait out with a x he throws about 16 and has no problem with this ball picking up it roll

Ahhhhh....great idea.

I have two other balls with that same drilling, and you are correct about that reaction!

CAn I ask a quick question? you guys seem to like the barbell drilling, which I have not tried. I'm also a low rev speed dominant stroker who needs to have it pick up earlier. Does this work with asym balls also?

Signature? I don't need no stinking signature...

Thanks for the help guys. I had a T-road with pin down cg kicked right before it cracked after getting stuck in the lane machine. I was thinking the same drilling. Never had any experience with the barbell drilling.

I honestly can't answer that question as I have only used the barbell drilling on two symmetrical-cored balls.

One was on an AMF Ninja and the other an old Columbia pearl piece.

I will tell you this though....I pulled out the Ninja last week and began using it strictly for the 3rd game broken down shot. It has a very strong midlane, with great energy at the pindeck. And contrary to all my other balls which tend to run up high on the headpin by 3rd game....this ball tends to give you a real nice hook-set reaction, and no over/under.

And this is even in the presence of carrydown.

well wasn't the attitude shift technically a asymetrical ball?
