I just got a new Triple X and the thing won't hook a bit. Almost goes straight
unless I really turn it hard. Its drilled with the pin above the fingers and just left of the ring finger. The cg is located straight below in the middle of the grip. The RAD or whatever that is, is just below the thumb hole.
The lanes are oiled medium with some back end. I throw the ball slow to medium with average revs. To use the ball I had to throw a tight line up 12 and angle the ball towards the pocket. If I catch the ball just right, it might move 2 boards. My team mate who does not hook the ball that much, was using an Ebonite Warrior and it was moving a lot. He also has slow to medium speed but not as many revs as I do. He tried the Triple X and he also couldn't get it to move.
The proshop guy, who cranks the ball big time and is a very good bowler, threw the ball and got it to move a lot on the back end. But I don't have that kind of delivery.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a better way to drill this ball? I know I can sand it but that will cut out the length which I was trying to get in the first place. From what I had read and was led to understand, this ball would go long but have a very sharp snap on the back end. It does go long. Too long.
I paid over $200 for this ball and my wife says it had better work or she doesn't want to heat about it.
