Title: dry lane ball

i am looking into getting a dry lane ball and i was wondering if the Tropical Storms are good for when lane conditions get dry during tournements?

It really depends on your style, lane sureface and what you call dry.  I personally believe that the core / cover match-up is off on this ball.  They have the same coverstock as the Fired Ups, etc. so it's really strong.  Then they put a weak core in the ball...so hit / carry can suffer some.

Personally I would drill a Jolt Pearl over a Tropical...but that's me.

The house I bowl at is strange, with a pretty decent sized swamp in the middle and bone dry out past the 10 board. I've seen many guys shoot a Tropical straight up any board from 10-1 and this ball skids quite long and makes a smooth turn crushing the pocket. I don't have one personally, so I can only say what I've seen, but it seems to do the trick for the dry.

what about a razor wire. ive been battling a dry condition
where 10-gutter is slick and everywhere else is dry except for
a little in the middle.  been playing 4th arrow but once that
goes im screwed.  i do have a razor wire and was thinking of
drilling it for this reason.  so Bowling4life10, if you find
something that works let me know.

Jusr got one; sanded it to 2000 grit for light oil - didn't work.
Polished it with a gritless polish - much better - still covers almost all 40 boards - drilled pin over ring finger, CG stacked below.
NOT a weak ball - can't make it weak so far. (Last chance is sanding it to 4000 grit and adding polish.)

speakin of a tropical storm i got one shipped last thursday on ebay bowlingblowouts and it hasnt been shipped to my house how long does it usually take to ship it from los angeles california thats where it was from

WOW, the ball is that strong?  the only other balls i have been
looking at and thinking of is a flipside fear and the columbia trooper.
i didnt think the razor wire was that strong.  well more research i guess.
hopefully someone can chime in with some personal results.  i did glance
at the mercury for a bit and was also looking at the sonic x also.
geez, im fishing for a dry ball like i fish for a shot on monday.

currently my dry lane ball is a Hammer Vibe; the purple one, not the blue one.

it seems to do pretty well.  My driller recommended that over a tropical for me.

There are a couple guys here using the Tropicals for dry-er and 3 using the purple Vibes. IMO, the Vibes do a better job, BUT, the Tropicals are so very close.

That's here, might not be the same "dryer" as you are shooting on. JMO

how hard does the tropical storm hit in comparison with storm's high-end balls?

The TS will hit almost as strong on drier conditions that the higher end balls will do for oilier conditions.

Tropical is a GREAT down and in ball period.  I had one when I threw 15 lbs. and it was my go to ball.  Anytime the lanes were screwy at all that ball did the trick.

I ran into the problem of it being too strong for dry lanes though.  Just an FYI...and I had it drilled label leverage.
