Favorite surface on the HyRoad?
« on: September 20, 2009, 04:12:04 PM »
What's your favorite surface on the HyRoad and why?  I'm thinking about 2000 no polish.  I want it to handle a little more oil and be able to deal with the carrydown.

Thanks

I have mine Hyroad at 2000 which is pretty decent.   Im about to experiment with it at 1000 as im having trouble at one house with it.  They are year old pro anvilanes and since im throwing it a lot faster then I used to, I am going to see what a little more surface does.

All I usually do is just knock the polish off.  Put it on the spinner and just lightly go over it with a burgundy scotch brite pad (no pressure) just to take the polish off. I found that with the polish on the ball it just skids way too far.  Without the polish its a great ball between my Thunderstruck and T-Road Pearl.

I agree with knocking the polish off.  I hit mine with a 4000 Abralon pad after it was polished and it worked great.  It starts earlier than my VE but is not as strong on the back end.  I usually go to it after the VE starts turning too hard and move a bit more inside.
