Fast vs Reign
« on: October 08, 2009, 06:01:59 AM »
So I find it interesting that Storm is using this R2S cover so often and in so many balls.  That cover both solid and pearl have been in countless balls.  I guess the cover is very successful.
So looking at these 2 balls, and knowing that the cover is 70+% of reaction, how different are they?  I've heard the Fast being more predictable while the Reign being all back-end.  Could the core really make that much of a difference?
I see people using the Fast on a medium THS, but the Reign is not recommended around here.
What do people think?

Both are good balls and it depends on what you like. To me, the Reign will handle more head oil and allow you to really open up the lane. When there is a little less oil in the heads, it's Fast time. The cores flex their muscles two different ways.

The Reign is as advertised a monster ball off of the break. I punched mine this week and it played 3 days, three different surfaces (2 syn, 1 wood) and different volumes of oil. The first two nights I used the Reign game 1 & 2 and by game 3 the heads were two chopped up to use it. Last night there was a ton of over/under from the start but it did show any problems with handling it.
