My thoughts for future Storm lineup

These are just my thoughts but they makes sense to me.  Here is what I think storm should do:
Have 3 lines of balls in each symmetrical and assymetrical.  Each line would look like this:

Strong -  low/mid RG High diff core - strong cover (Solid, Hybrid, Pearl)
Mid - mid/mid high RG, med diff core - medium cover (Solid,Hybrid,Pearl)
Weak - High RG low diff core - weak cover (solid, hybrid, pearl)

Again, do this for both Sym and Asym, then have a couple specialty balls such as low RG med diff core, med to stronger covers for sport conditions.  Maybe a a particle or pearl particle, etc.

Thoughts?

I just feel this would make ball selection very easy for the majority of bowlers while still catering to the pro's.

They already have a solid lineup.

Premier- Low Rg/ High Diff, Stong MB, Newest coverstocks.
Master- Low Rg, Med/High diff. symmetrical , newest coverstocks.
Thunder- Med Rg, Med Diff, last gen coverstocks
Fire-Gone
Hot- Med RG , Low/Med Diff, last gen covers AND now a urethane.
Tropical- Entry Level
Ice- Spare balls.

uh. looks like they got the bases covered to me.

I agree with jbuzz, I don't think they need to do anything to improve their line up, it is pretty solid right now.

Agreed with above. I think people weren't commenting because we were wondering why you thought you could manage a lineup better than the best bowling ball company in the world right now :-)

I never made such a statement that I could manage it better than they could.  I just dont understand some of the changes they are making right now.  The Grvity shift is gone, so we have a solid and a hybrid in the premier line with no pearl.  In the Master line, there is a solid and a pearl (mica) but no hybrid.  Then you go down to the thunder line and the hyroad is all by itself.  I just think it would make a lot of sense to have a Solid, Hybrid, and Pearl in each line.  I guess I am all by my lonesome in that thinking though.

wpzone, I understand where your coming from but think about it from a company standpoint, new equipment needs to be cycled in and old out. They never seem to have a completely full lineup but thats probably a good thing, with the setup they have now they probably can't keep up with that many balls out and at some point you lose sales from flooding the market in which they would have to do to get to the point you bring up.

Its an interesting idea but to get to that point would be risky and probably wouldn't work, and i'm sure the reason there are holes in the lineup currently is so they can be filled with what you mentioned.

I see your point but if I remember correctly, recently they had somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-20 balls, not counting the 30 different tropical colors.  Now they have basically 9 if you only count 1 tropical and 1 plastic.

But do realize, their sales are higher than ever. So they must be doing something right with only 9 balls..

They have always done very well.  I currently own about 20 Utah balls (mostly storm) and plan to pick up at lease the Virtual Energy and the Natural.  I have been a loyal customer for years, with a couple exceptions for trying out other companies, but have always came back.  I was just trying to spark a discussion on what we thought could change, improvements, wants, etc... That is what helps companies grow and get what we want out of them, customer input.

Also, if you look at my original post:

That is 9 balls as well, but add in a plastic, urethane (Natural) for 11 total.
