Fever Pitch compared to Motiv Rebel Tank?
« on: March 18, 2019, 11:15:40 PM »
Curious if any of the urethane users out there might have used both the Rebel Tank and the new Fever Pitch. Interested in differences of amount of hook and shape of shot comparisons.

Fever Pitch is way stronger. Rebel Tank felt like a harder hitting plastic. Fever Pitch almost feels like a mild reactive.

Agree with both. I have a couple weeks under my belt with the fever pitch now. This fever pitch is surprisingly strong for urethane. Would definitely rate it between urethane and reactive. Had the purple hammer. Fever pitch is stronger, and more continuous on the backend.

I use Fever Pitch as my last ball down, rather than a condition-specific Urethane. It plays almost like an After Dark Pearl, very good ball!

Well I am currently using reactive on fresh house shot and switching to Rebel Tank when it starts to over react. Usually start with a Eruption Pro. I am kind of looking for a strong urethane with more backend that can carry on fresh oil. I have a Pitch Black but while it hooks more then the RT for me seems to leave too many 10 pins. Was looking for a urethane with a different back end to hopefully carry better for me. How is the  Fever Pitch as far as over/under, as I have had trouble with that using pearls at times.

I drilled mine 5x4x2. Long and smooth, I like it a lot!

Well I have seen the Rebel combat Tank in our home house and it is nice and smooth!

Just softer in the back than other weak Reactives!  Sort of hybrid that looks just slightly smoother than the Fever Pitch when sensing Friction to my eye!

Also, I will tell you in our house The Black Widow Urethane looks fantastic also.  A longish shot with pretty strong wet Dry on our left and right side the medium speed bowlers have a chance with that one!  We had a bowler thowing both The Combat Tank Rampage and the Black Widow Urethane for awhile and he could play a slightly in to out shot with the Black Widow Urethane for a couple of games and carry, or play nearly straight up the boards with the Motiv Combat Tank and carry for about the same amount of time.  Eventually he would go with carrydown to his Winner Pearl in to out and carry on the Carrydown.  He finally ruined the Combo by plugging his weighthole on the Black Widow Urethane in anticipation of the new rule and lost his area on the Black Widow.  Yes really!

As a side note yesterday I picked up on a freakishly low price an almost new Hot Cell, a ever so slighly rounder looking move than the Black Widow Urethane on the back.  I think it will match up on the left side so well!

I hope these are some helpful ideas for you.  Combat Tank Rampage or Black Widow Urethane.  Maybe watching some Youtube video of them you will see which you think Will match up with your home shot better!

Sincerely,

Beamer, fever pitch would be perfect for what you describe that you need. Stronger than pitch black, with continuous backend. Drilled mine 4x4x1 pin up high near the Val. Ball hooks quite a bit with that drill for me. Pretty strong and continuos in the dry. I get about 3 inches of flare. If you want it real smooth, yet strong, and better for over under. I would go with  your favorite low pin drilling layout.
