IQ Tour Help
« on: January 20, 2016, 12:20:23 PM »
My go-to ball is the Hy-Road, but I usually use it when the lanes transition. I'm thinking about punching my IQ Tour Solid to use when my Respect at 1000 is too much. For my game, the Respect at this surface is similar to a Marvel or Modern Marvel (smooth overall but still has a defined move with great continuation. I've tried to use the Respect around 3000, but it began to push too much for my liking. The Respect and Hy-Road are drilled nearly identical. Should I keep the same layout for the IQ Tour or should I modify it?

I don't think it's a bad bet to keep the same layout for the IQ Tour. I like to drill my equipment with my favorite layout; if you have luck with it, why not keep drilling it?
Hope you score big with the IQ Tour; I never liked it. Mine hit the pins like a wet marshmallow.

I would only caution you on if your normal drilling is "weak".  My experience with low differential equipment is if you drill the ball weak, it can make it condition specific.

IQ Tour is a super versatile piece, but unless you have 400+ revrate they can struggle when drilled too weak as others have said. Too weak and the flare rings won't open up enough to continue through the pins with any angle through the front. Generally speaking I think they tend to look better with slightly stronger layouts than you would generally use so for me a 5" pin to pap is normal but I use 4-4.5" pin to pap with the IQ core. Regardless of layout, not a ball you're typically gonna open up the lane with, that's what the Hyroad is for :)

Maybe I'll use the same pin distance and kick the cg out so I can add a weight hole if needed. It should be fun to have in my bag. Plus this ball is to have a good reaction when my Hy-Road isn't ready. I appreciate the help everyone.
