OK so the wood lanes in my league last night were bone dry. After shooting 172 - 182 with all different resin balls including 2 Jolt Pearls and a Tropical Storm, I finally gave in and threw my Team Storm Plastic! 3 in the 10th in the 2nd game and then front 11 before throwing the last shot straight through the nose for 299!

If in doubt - pull your spare ball out!

Its ok I was just laughing about it.. Props aren't really needed I just thought it was funny, but thats for fighting my corner.

You are right, plastic is not a spare ball! I shot more strikes with it the other night than spares lol. There are occasions on extreme short oil I've had to use it but its a first for me to need to resort to it in that house in league.

i couldnt even imagine using my spare ball fo strikes..  i just got a new one about two months ago and its so polished, theres like zero friction.  i cover alot of lane with my strike ball, but i can crank my spare ball and id be lucky if it moved 2 boards.   to use this spare ball as my first shot ball, id have to drop to like 13mph and throw it on the wood floor in my home to get it to hook.  even my wood floor at home is too slick to get it to hook.   good shooting!

I've only seen one condition ever where my spare ball hooked more than about 3 or 4 boards at the most.  They stripped the lanes and ran the wrong oil pattern by accident -- it only oiled the heads.  Nothing else.  It was 20-24 foot pattern with completely stripped, clean backends.  Even I could swing a plastic ball 15 to 5 and hit the pocket, and I am speed dominant with a 250rpm rev rate.    (Yes, they reoiled the lanes after we threw a couple balls and realized this was just plain screwed up)

I doubt it.  I think perhaps Blockhater is an Englishman, living and bowling in England!  So it's probably not close to home unless you too live and bowl in England.

In a wood centre just South of London.

Like I said, it was out of the ordinary. They are usually dry, but not close to THAT dry!! Typically I use a Jolt Pearl there or Tropical Storm on the drier nights. Its still a THS though.
