I've got a good feeling about this ball -- don't have one yet, but, I'm assuming since noone is selling theirs that you must love it. What say you??

After seeing the Pyro in action this weekend, you may want to consider that. It's definantly a more predictable ball. I love my fired up, but I had to take the polish off. Definantly a better ball now.

My main concern is potential over/under with it. Our conditions have been wacked out this season and don't know what changes summer will bring. I prefer to start each session with my Apocalypse, but it's too much for what we've been seeing. I switched to my X-Factor and it was a touch jumpy until we got some carry down going. How close do you think the Fired Up would be to my Hot Rod Super Sport Pearl?

Well, I'd say the Fired-Up will be 3-6 boards stronger than the HRSSP... and almost all of that is BACKEND. The FU is very flippy whereas the HRSSP is more even.
I also have to 2nd a comment made earlier by Djarum... Get the Pyro. It's one of the most versatile balls I've ever thrown. Quite a piece and a very surprising release! I'd put my money on the Pyro especially since you're concerned about over/under with the FU. You won't see much of that from the Pyro. Good luck!

I got one slightly used but unabused off of Ebay. Ball is strong, even shined up, its stronger than I thought it would be...but still not as stong overall as my Diablo on the same condition. With the pearl reactor cover, the ball will go long and make a wicked, hard move once it hits dry.

That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger, that which doesn't make you stronger is a waste of time!

I have both a hrssp and a fu. The fu is a good bit stronger, working well on medium-medium heavy with fresh backends, where the hrssp is better for broken down or lighter oil patterns. The hrssp is drilled weaker, but I have thrown other hrssp's drilled similar to my fired up with similar results. I would say the fu isn't as predictable either unless you take a bit off surface off, it is just so strong in the backend.

It is flippy but the break point for me is always predictable, unless i get it a hair outside and let it run on the oil longer, but then it recovers alot harder. Its probably the best storm purchase ive made, next to my diablo. Matter of fact ive got my 16lb fired up for sale 20 + shipping!

I like what I'm hearing, but it's sounding like I already have what I'm looking for in my X-Factor. D*mn!! Although the X is, I think, stronger than the FU. It definitely doesn't go long and flip like my teammates FU does. Oh, FU, how I love your orange-y goodness!! I hate when I get like this -- find a ball that I just have to have, even if it's not a need to have!!

I would actually venture to say that the FU is stronger than the original x-factor, after throwing them both I think that would be the case.

I will agree, the fu is much stronger than the x, especially on the back.

Since I don't yet have an FU to compare it with....My X starts up real strong in the mid and not a real screamer on the backend, unless they're really ripping. Our lane conditions lately probably warrant a little weaker ball. My teammate's FU just glides out there to the backs and just tears left! So, I'd agree on that -- it's definitely stronger on the back for the conditions I'm seeing. My X is drilled pin above, right of ring with RAD an inch or so right of thumb. His FU is drilled pin above bridge and CG kicked out some. I'm hoping to replace the X with the FU as the X is a heavy 15 and I really need a 15 to be effective.
