Title: Fired Up Drilling ?
Post by: hotshot187 on March 18, 2008, 02:21:01 PM
I recently acquired a Fired up and trying to figure out how to drill it.  I bowl a  THS, I track high(PAP is 5 1/4 OVER and 1 UP), Medium speed and decent revs.  I primarily use a Storm Thunderstruck Solid drilled 4 1/2 pin to pap x 60 degrees.  This layout puts the pin above ring.  The solid is burning up a bit and not giving me the continuation I need on the back part of the lane.  I am looking for some help on a drilling.  Any help would be great.

Thanks.

If you use the same layout as on your T-Struck Solid, the nature of the coverstock of the Fired Up will let the ball get downlane further than the T-Struck Solid and give you more continuation due to the fact that it'd store more energy.

You may want to go with a further pin-to-pap (maybe 5", even 5 1/2") to get even more length out of this coverstock.  Pin above bridge would probably get it to 5" for you.
