First night out with the Street Rod
« on: April 11, 2008, 04:57:33 PM »
Drilled my new Street Rod solid yesterday, and took it to league, not sure if I'd have the opportunity to use it or not, since the house in my Friday night league is usually on the dry side.  Drilled it with the pin above my ring finger, and the CG kicked out just to the right of my grip, a weight hole was necessary, and put it on my PAP.  After seeing it in practice, I decided I could start with it, but would have to be pretty deep inside.  I started at about 29, and after a couple high flush hits, got in deeper to around 35.  Sending it out to the dry, the Street Rod turned the corner nicely, without a hard flip, and held it's breakpoint, if you will for a couple feet which was all I needed.  The carry was amazingly good considering how deep inside I was, and as the night went on, I inched a bit farther over, winding up at 38 by the end of the night, playing 20.  Shot 247, 248, and 223 for a 718 for the night.  The ball, as expected does hook a bit more than Storm seems to be letting on, but it appears to be a fantastic combination of the old Messenger core with the Reactor cover on it.  Look forward to seeing it on a bit more oil, and PBA conditions.
