Post by: tad2 on October 12, 2004, 02:09:58 PM
I just got my first Storm ball (RECHARGE)and can't wait to try it out.  But, what's the deal with the fragrance?  It smells great and all, but why?

its a marketing ploy basically. Just a neat little thing. Theres other rumors, like its because the coverstocks they use smell bad to drill and that helps, and stuff like that, but I think its just because they can.

The Master,Power, and Flash Lines have scents.
The owner of Storm used to market Cleaning chemicals that he owned a patent I believe in making them more "Nose friendly" by adding scents. He has carried this over and holds a patent for doing it in bowling balls. Yes its strictly marketing and the scent has no bearing on the condition of the ball however the oil absorption and clogged waxes or polishes may inhibit the scent somewhat and I guess could be used for some sort of indicator but this is not the stance of the company as far as I know.

I had heard he did it for his wife, she didn't like the smell. Think it was a interview with him.
