Looking to get some new stuff from Storm or Roto Grip. I have a V, Gravity for heavy, and an Anarchy for a more skid- flip move on somewhat heavier conditions, Would like some ideas for:

A- benchmark type of ball, Medium oil conditions, drilled pin down for control

B- a go long, strong backend ball for drier conditions, maybe drilled pin up

C- very dry lane ball. Drilled for a smooth move to pocket. Maybe a pin in ball, drilled with pin in middle of grip

I am a medium speed, medium rev, more up the back kind of bowler{think W.R.Williams without nearly as much talent}Any ideas on balls or drilling will be appreciated. Thanks

A - Outlaw or Hyroad

B - Tropical Heat (Hybrid or Pearl...both go pretty sideways)

C - Tropical Breeze

A. I agree with the Hyroad. Hard to find a better bechmark. Although I just drilled a Frantic pin down and wow! I love getting this ball out once the heads dry out and the nano just isn't getting it done anymore. It

hooks alot more than I thought it would.

B. My first thought would be the original Reign. But since that's no longer in there lineup I would probably have to say Roto Grips Shooting or Rising Star

C. Tropical Breeze

A- Hyroad or 2Furious

B- Roto Grip Bandit or Victory Road Pearl

C- Natural Pearl or if you don't like Urethane go with the Tropical Breeze solid (much smoother than the pearl)

For me A was Reign Supreme. B was a Frantic. I also have a Virtual Gravity.

Benchmark and Smooth:

Marvel Solid w/ Pin Down and Polish w/ x-tra hole on axis point.

Reign Supreme and Hyroad or Nomad Dagger with same drill as above

2 Furious or Shining Star with pin above bridge

Long and Strong for Drier Lanes:

Well if they are drier that last thing you want is the "hockey stick motion" maybe something long and more smoother to tame down the backend

A Frantic with a 5 1/2 inch pin from pap with it down under middle finger and x-tra hole down near thumb

A Pin high Tropical Heat Hybrid

A Stacked Leverage Tropical Breeze Pearl

A Pin High Frantic Depending on where you put your pin.

For the "Super Burn" Shot

A Tropical Breeze Solid with a 6 inch pin from Pap and hole on axis with super polish or go Pin under to smooth the backend down even more with super polish

This is all with Resin Equipment you can always drill up the new Polar Ice Solid and Shine it up that will go pretty straight

for A, B, and C. i have three victory roads. there is nothing they cant handle. each has a different layout. For the bench mark layout i have the 4*4*2 layout. it is very strong off the break and never loses energy, very versitile layout as well. for b, i use storms 5*3*4 layout, this layout clears the front and gives me a nice break to the pocket on drier shots. and C i dont know what you mean "very dry". i mean i usually use either my natural or a special layout on my newest victory road. i dont know what it is called but if you draw a line through your pin and your cg then draw a perpendicular line to that and lay your ball out on that line then you will get the layout that i have.
