Furious = Resurgence
« on: September 23, 2009, 12:35:03 AM »
Is my Furious the same type of reaction as a Columbia Resurgence?
My Furious is pretty agressive, but my buddy says the Res is a higher quality and more agressive ball and I should add it to my arsenal??

I was thinking of buying the VG for my deep oil ball. I can get the Res for cheap used with looowww games on it. Thanks for your help, Marshall

If you have a Furious, you do not need to spend money to buy a used Resurgence. Both balls out of the box are good on med to med-heavy shots. Sounds like someone wants to unload a ball from their bag.

While the Furious and the Resurgence will probably have a similar ball reaction - hard, but smooth arc, the Resurgence is designed to handle heavier oil than the Furious. Furious: medium to medium-heavy, Resurgence: medium-heavy to heavy with the stock surface and normal drills.

The Furious can handle a good deal of oil unless you have relatively high ball speed. I think the Resurgence would be a good step above the Furious just because their over ball reaction is very similar and both having asymmetric core.

The VG is likely to fit between these with a very different ball reaction UNLESS you kick the Mass Bias way out to get an early roll. Its basic ball reaction has kind of a flippy backend for medium-heavy oil ball due to its surface preparation and its asymmetric core.
