byte vs. hy road
« on: December 15, 2015, 09:50:34 PM »
Wonder why tonight in league my hy road was hooking and reacting much better than my byte?  Isnt a byte way more agressive?  Or at least I thought it was.

Byte was probably using all its energy up front. HyRoad saving it for the BE. Byte is pretty aggressive so if theres a good amt of oil up front, the BE wont be as much as it is expending energy to hook in oil. The Hy Road on the other hand probably skidded thru the oil and saved its energy for the BE where it was drier and unleashed all the energy there. Am I correct?

Makes sense.  I seem to have made that mistake in a tourn. Years ago.  Wrong choice of a ball.  Oh well I guess it happens.  My PSO said my byte may be dying.  The HR is brand new.  Maybe he just wants to sell me another ball.  Lmao.  I am kidding.  I got a good guy.

a "more aggressive" ball doesn't mean it will always hook more as the lanes dry out.

The hy-road reacted better because it was the right ball for the conditions in your league.

I found the Byte to be quite clean upfront unless it had a ton of surface. Besides, if you had a good look with something, that's all that matters. That's the reason we have multiple balls.
