Hot Water Bath for Paradigm or Passion
« on: June 07, 2006, 04:49:32 AM »
Has anybody done a 'Hot Water' treatment on their Paradigm or Passion yet? I was thinking about doing it, but I was a little worried about the cracking issues.

Thanks!

my friend and i did it to his, put a little degreaser in there, and threw it in a bucket big enough for the whole ball, cover the holes with some tape and sat it in there with warm water from the kitchen sink, let it sit for 25 minutes, pulled it out and man that was nasty water, lighty sanded back to OOB (passion) and wha la all done no issues at all

I did it on both my Passion and Paradigm; I'm glad I did. I got the backend reaction back I was missing on my Paradigm, which makes me very happy. I always use Black Magic Rejuvenator after I'm done bowling, followed by Clean 'n Dull after two sets.

I didn't leave a solid ten all night, I don't know why I didn't do it sooner!

The dishwasher technique worked wonders on my Passion.

Is the Black Magic Rejuvenator a cleaner or is it to pull the oil out of the ball?  I currently use Track Powerwash to get all the nasties off the ball every time I bowl but would something like Black Magic Rejuvenator be better?

Oh and I've seen someone Dawn Bath a Passion and it worked out fine.

I have read in several different places that baking can ruin your ball.

The Black Magic Rejuvenator is just a spray cleaner, I've used Powerwash before and IMHO I think it works just a little bit better than Powerwash. The only thing I noticed with Black Magic Rejuvenator, It doesn't leave the ball as tacky as Powerwash does, but does get rid of that 'gritty' feeling.

The bath really did help my Paradigm, I regained the backend reaction.

Fluff,

Would u care to elaborate, i have baked my passion once already and was goin to do it again today!!..

Thanks

Don't ask me because I have never tried it.  I am just saying that I have "heard" that you can ruin your ball doing it like that.  I was saying maybe ask around to people that know more about it.
