Good ball below the Lucid
« on: October 17, 2012, 05:12:12 PM »
I  looking for a good fit below the Lucid that gets down the lane a little farther but had a strong backend that I can use after I have moved inside a little. I have a Infinite Theory that I had hoped would fit that spot but it lacks in backend on oil, has become a great control ball for me when the lanes breakdown ( which is good to have ). I also have a bandit that has a good backend but there is to much of a gap between the 2. Any suggestions?

Are you throwing the Lucid at box? The ball is versatile enough, you could get another one with a longer drilling and polish. If not then either, Critical or Defiant Edge. Critical's going to be longer than the Lucid but the Edge will be stronger than the Infinite.

I am throwing the Lucid at box, is the Edge stronger than the Infinite? I think it was the way we drilled the IT that made it  to smooth.

Depending on layout, yes. From what I've seen, the Edge offers more backend than the Infinite. The Lucid is by far one of the, if not the, strongest pearl on the market. A weaker drill with some polish might be your answer.

If you are looking for something that goes longer and turns hard on the back end, I would not look to the Modern Marvel.  It is a strong symetric and rolls up sooner.  I would look at the Fire Road.  It is not as strong as the Lucid, but it does turn hard and goes longer than the Lucid.

IQ Tour might be a good ball to ball down to.

Definitely no to the IQ Tour, that ball is earlier than the Lucid. Id go with a Crossroad.

Crossroad is probably the best...the core will get down the lane a bit more...and it will work great almost at any surface adjustment.

frantic has a raging backend. crossroad and marvel pearl do as well.

My vote is for the IQ Tour.  I did not care for it OOB, but a coat of reacts shine has made it a perfect step down from my OOB Lucid.  It gets down the lane much easier and still has plenty of pop on the back.  If I want something even cleaner yet, my VE is next in line.

Thanks for the responses, I think I am down to the Crossroad or the Fire Road. Which one handles a little more oil but still has a strong backend. I want one able to go to it after I have moved in with my Lucid already and still be able to swing it with good angle to the pocket. Like I said I get caught in between my Lucid and Ifinite Theory( which is not as strong as I had hoped) and my Bandit.

The Fire Road would probably be the way to go then.

my fire road has been a hit or miss. as well as the crossroads. good balls but i am telling you the victory road pearl and the frantic are the way to go. if you want a very versatile ball.
