punch out

What do you guys think about this ball? So far it has been just blah for me. Knocked off the shine and it's still blah. What surface prep do you find best?

I leave it at 1500 and use it with drier conditions. What are you seeing with the ball that makes it so blah for you?

I actually liked my Punch Out quite a bit. It was cleaner up front and stronger on the back than my IQ Tour Fusion, so it was a great go-to ball as a step down from the Fusion. I really thought Storm did well with that core-cover matchup. For me, the Punch Out had plenty of recovery if missed slightly outside, yet the core was still strong enough to get the ball through the pins and carry if missed slightly inside. As the other responder asked, what specifically are you seeing/experiencing that make it blah for you?

I was hoping this ball would get further down the lanes than it does. For me, the punch out picks up strong in the midlane. It reminds me of my asylum. I bought the punch out to be my game 2&3 ball. I knocked off the polish with a 4000 pad because oob it made a left turn when it hit the breakpoint. Now it gets about the same length with a slightly slower reft turn. Maybe some extender polish next?

I would try a higher grit surface and polish, I'm not sure what your speeds and revs are but i would try 2000 + polish and if too early 3000 + polish ect.

I traded one of my league partners for this ball, and the Punch-Out is by far one of the most inconsistent ball's I've ever thrown. I've thrown thid ball in anything from med-light out at oob finish, at 4000, at 3000/polish,i also completely knocked the polish with just a 2000 grit pad and all thus ball wants to do is go 50 ft, and barely move a few boards and continue shot after shot to just roll-out.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE ball, I'd rather swing my plastic then use this paper weight, jmho.

Wow!  Mine is completely opposite. A consistent strong, midlane hook for me.

Ride the gutter,

I have a slower ball speed and med-hi revs 13.5 revs/375 rev rate, I also have a high axis rotation (not sure what the number is) even with these stats ( I can make anything hook)  this ball just wants to slide, slide, slide.
Each company has a ball or two that's a dude, and thus ball ranks right up there.

I recommended a friend and hi rev/rubber armed bowler in our house with only strongs solids in his bag get it!

I don't know his PAP but he has it drilled over his bridge with a small kick out.  With his good loft and revs iin at least the 400 to 425 range he is using this as a carry monster for him.

His reaction is similar to the attached video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0jrjj_-1Zk

He has a similar deliver and a little more loft than the also rubber armed bowler in this video.   I would bring your attention to the 1:08 mark.   In our house this is the difference between the fusion and the punch out.

The fusion is usually played more in front of the bowler and the Punch out can wheel!

A great skid snap piece!

Regards,

Luckylefty
PS the Rocket is looking great in our house also!

I call my po the nascar ball.  goes really straight and long then makes a left turn.  I love this ball when transition kicks in.  had 300 with it 2 weeks ago.
