GRAVITY EVOLVE

Gravity Evolve
I was too young and inexperienced to throw a Virtual Gravity when it was first released, so naturally I was excited when Storm announced that they were bringing a modified version back! Gravity Evolve (GE) features the SPEC cover that we saw on the Crux Prime and the Pro-Motion. The strong Asym (Crux Prime) ball that we released earlier this year was too strong for the conditions that I bowl on. With this in mind, I drilled the GE weaker utilizing a taller pin position to get it to go further down the lane. I think this is the best asymmetrical ball that Storm has released since the Lock. The GE reads the front part of the lane and the mid-lane well but is not as strong as the Crux Prime. To me, the slightly weaker motion will benefit players. I threw my GE on a burnt house pattern with some carry down. On those conditions, the GE revel up in the front part of the lane and just laid in front of the head pin. This is a motion that I love. Strong asymmetrical bowling balls are supposed to rev up and control the pocket— not jackknife downlane. The GE fits between our Pro-Motion/Physix’s and the Crux Prime which will make it house pattern friendly and also friendly on medium to heavy oil conditions. Don’t be scared to drill one of these! The Gravity Evolve will take the market by Storm ;)

Nice video! I like that you talk through the review, giving insights into the lane conditions, what you were doing with your hand, etc.

Thank You, thank you, thank you!!!

Storm has done it again by resurrecting the Shape-Lock HD Core and wrapping it with the new SPEC cover. The Gravity Evolve is a heavy rolling ball that still stores enough energy to give you some shape down lane. The Gravity Evolve is a great piece to have in your bag when you are bowling on heavier volume and longer length oil patterns.

Though this ball is new to the market I don't see anyone talking about changing the surface on the Evolve.  Like the Prime the coverstock was way to aggressive for a majority of the bowlers.  I did not throw the Prime but two of my students did as well as other bowlers in our center.  After a day at our center no one could throw the Prime out of the box unless they had very fast ball speed.  We tamed the Prime down to 3000 and now the ball fits perfectly below the Physix.

I say this about the Prime because it's the same with the Evolve.  I watched a 24 year young lady throw this ball 17 + on our house shot and killed with the Evolve.  I thrrew the Evolve at 14 mph and the ball went all the way over to the 4-7.

I also have the Physix and it's the first ball out of my bag.  So not to waste $250 I gave the ball back to the pro shop and asked him to put is on the resurferer and take it down to 5000-6000.  The ball looked polished with no polish.  The ball came to life.  It reads the break point with a great move to the pocket and carry is tremendous.  The Evolve fits in extremely well with my All-Road.

Most know that the cover of a bowling ball has a tremendous amout of balls reaction so I'm not afraid to buy a ball with a strong coverstock becauce it can be easily modified to a less aggressive coverstock, but just as easy to bring it back to the orginal coverstock if needed.  But for most house conditions this ball's coverstock is just too strong.

I haven't posted in a few years so if I didn't follow the  format please accept my apologies.

Gravity Evolve
- RG 2.48
- DIFF 0.052
- Welcome back Shape-Lock HD core but now partnered with the SPEC cover gives us one of the hottest balls on the market. This ball will be a multiple drill in my arsenal. The first one I drilled 4 x 3.5 x 1 which allows me to have any earlier and smoother motion to help myself go straighter up the lane and to have smoother balls for longer and heavier patterns. This ball gives you all the hook that you would need and now I know why everyone had been asking for them to bring back the original Virtual Gravity.
