There's really no way to easily do what you're asking for. Everything all depends on the lane condition and lane surface that you're bowling on. I could tell you what does what, compared to what....but on different patterns and surfaces those things could be reversed.
My philosophy is to use whatever works at any given time. There is no set of rules that you can follow in this sport. You can have a "guideline" to start with, but shortly after that all bets are off.
One of the biggest problems that i see in the sport today ( in the pro shop and bowling ball business ) is this : To many people look for ball reaction backwards, and they rely on information that doesnt neccessarily pertain to them and their games. Instead of buying a ball, picking a layout and then asking what reaction they will get out of it....you should really decide on what reaction you are looking for, decide on a ball that fits along with what you're looking for and then lay it out accordingly. Your decision has to be based on how it will fit into your hands..not somebody elses. They may throw it totally different, bowl on different conditions and / or lane surfaces.
Always keep in mind that bowling balls are designed to do specific things. If you go against what they are made to do, you will end up unhappy with your purchase. If you buy a Dimension, drill it as strong as possible and then go bowl on a lot of friction....you're not going to be very happy. The sport is all about who matches up the best at all times. Don't let yourself fall into Ball Reaction Trap !!!
My arsenal page is set up to show what works for me, meaning that it may or may not work for you. I can give you all the reccommendations that you would ever want, but without knowing all the variables and even possibly seeing you bowl...it may not be of much good as to how it translates to you. With that being said, i'll always be the most help that i can be and i certainly welcome all questions and comments
