Rapid Fire Pearl Problems

I cannot control my rapid fire pearl. It is drilled pin under my ring finger and the cg about an inch right of my center line. I've changed the finish and put a weight hole in it but I'm still having problems. Any suggestions?

Hrm, i have one but it has negitive side wieght and 3/4 oz thumb weight.. and i can control it but its not drilled to hook at lot. Whare did you position the wieght hole at in relation to your pap. It could be to dry of a condtion for it, the cover and core can produce a very flipy reaction, thats why I laid mine out the way i did.

The weight hole is in the thumb quadrent. After the ball was drilled it had just under 1 oz side weight. I took it down to 1/4 oz

Forget the weight hole. Its position should already be adding early flare to ameliorate this flippiness. It's just not enough.

Take a green (600 grit) nylon pad or a light grey (800 grit) nylon pad and gently haze about 50% of the surface, by hand. This will make it grab the lane earlier and reduce the backend. It will add control. Test it. If it is still too flippy, haze it gently again. test again. So it in steps, until its reaction is earlier and smoother.

You drilled the ball too flippy. It's already a very flippy ball by design. Your driller should have warned you about this when he drilled it.

If the hazing doesn't work, ask your driller to use a FRESH 4000 grit Abralon pad on the whole ball. This will make it earlier and smoother overall.

More info to consider...

Derek Eoff (Storm Staff, Team USA member) told me he didn't like the T-Road pearl initially until he took it to 500 GRIT and let the lane shine it.  Now it's one of his favorite balls and usually one of the first out of the bag.  To get there faster you could hit it with 500 abralon and hand rub the polish back into the ball, let it haze up, and spin it off on a ball spinner.

If after you try Charlest's suggestion, if it isn't enough, give this a try.
