Title: Help finding a new ball.
Post by: Imamusd on November 23, 2018, 09:09:40 PM
My favorite ball of all time was the 2Furious. I have been searching to find a ball to replace this for 2 years now. I have a decent arsenal built for tournament play, but I struggle to find a ball to use during league that I really trust and feel comfortable using all night. What is the Hyroad X like? For some reason I haven't ever thrown an OG Hyroad, is that a ball that would work as a league ball? Our house shot for league is a 41 foot pattern.

depends on how your speed and revs match up. if your a cranker (rev dominant) you could probably play a hy road all night but if your a stroker (speed dominant). you might want to get something more like an idol or hy road nano. hyroad x is in between OG and nano

I have about 360-375 revs and throw right around 16mph, but I can crank the ball more if I need to move deep left and need to get the ball around the corner. Im having to research everything myself since the Pro Shop at the center I bowl is currently unattended. Not quite sure what I am going to do about getting a ball drilled when I find one, but I will cross that bridge when I get there.

I'd look towards the Roto Grip Winner, Winner Solid, or All Out Show Off if you can find one. I feel the Hot Shot core is most similar to the NOS core of the 2Furious

Watching videos of the Winner Solid, I am intrigued. The motion definitely looks like something I could work with.
