Help me save my Trauma ER
« on: January 07, 2004, 07:00:18 PM »
Ok, my Trauma ER has been my go to ball for the last 2 years.  I love it.  Last year I had it resurfaced because it has kind of died out.  It never recovered, however I was able to play up the board with it and it was very consistent.  I'm just not able to swing it because it doesn't have the recovery anymore.  Well a local proshop guy of mine told me to use Ebonite Extender and Factory Polish on it...he said it would go longer and have a stronger back end.  Well, guess what?  It goes longer and doesn't hook and inch.  It's nice and shiny, but doesn't have any backend, and this was bowling on a condition with very strong backends.  How can I recover the little hook it did have?  It was a servicable ball playing up the boards.  In fact, 8 weeks ago I had 300-770 with it.  Please tell me what I can do to recover it.  Scotch brite?  A differnt polish?  Any help would be appreciated.

Also may want to look at sticking it in a rejuvenator,
or dishwasher, or warm water and Dawn.

Sure you got it resurfaced, but it has still been abosorbing oil.
The out side of the ball is clean, but the inside can no longer absorb
oil.

IF that doesn't work, and you know you love this ball, you better try and find 2 or 3 NIB.

quote:
have the pro shop or a top bowler or two watch you bowl and see what your lane condition is now/thisyear.  If the lanes are oilier and you have it polished, the ball will be weak or appear dead.  If the lanes are drier and the ball is not polished to the right grit or is just too strong, it will burn up and appear weak/dead.  If neither of those applies, it might be dead and have to be replaced if resurfacing did not help.

I will sign under this .. Especially the last sentence!
In the end, you have been using it for two years (probably hundreds of games).. I think it is time for a replacement.

Just my 2 cents
