The Frantic
« on: August 11, 2012, 10:00:48 PM »
I am thinking about getting the Frantic, I threw one on Thursday but couldn't get my thumb in all the way but was still able to throw it. But this ball was really smooth, the more I threw it out the more it would hook, if I stayed in it would hold pocket.

But my question is how is this ball comparable to the Reign, or the Victory Road. As I have both, but this ball didn't seem to act like the other two balls. Is the Victory Road the same cover stock?

Thanks.

Sevenpin,

The cover on the Frantic is the same as the Victory Road, just that the VR is a pearl, and the Frantic is a hybrid. Hybrids create a smoother look vs pearls.

The weightblock is not the same either. The weightblock is the same as is found in Fringe and Manic, which are new for the season. The Frantic has less flare potential than the VR, which will also make it smoother off the breakpoint. Personally, the weightblock in the Victory line is very strong off the spot, so something like the Frantic would smooth out the look for you, especially on the THS. Might be a bit stronger for you than the Aftermath Pearl you have.

The house I bowled in most this season was very wet/dry. On that shot I found this ball very hard to use. It's an absolute monster on friction. The times I have been able to use it was when the lanes are a little tighter and I liked it a lot. It's much smoother and hits very hard.

I have a fringe and the ball reacts to friction quite strong and so did most of the frantics I had seen. If you have ever seen anyone with the 2fast you have seen the reaction, to an extent. The frantic, manic and fringe are all the same as the 2fast and 2 furious with the frantic being the hybrid version.

The frantic was the it ball around here last season, funny seeing racks of them. I haven't seen that since the gold rhino.....lol

The cover on the Frantic is the same on the hyroad/crossroad...

Thought you Storm guys would like to know one of our local bowlers used a Frantic to shoot, 289,299,279 last Friday night. I bowl on the same house shot which is supposed to be the White pattern and its not a great shot by any means.

This guy is name Brandon Gabhart from Bedford Indiana. He had the highest average in the country a few years back in a mixed league.
