Help with arsenal
« on: July 30, 2019, 01:40:09 PM »
I have a dilemma. I'm trying to figure out my arsenal build. I am currently using the following balls:
Columbia Lit #14
Storm Hy-Road X #14
Global White Hot Badger #14

I'm looking to rebuild my arsenal but not sure which route to go. My favorite ball to throw is the Hy-Road X. I'd like to have a ball that can give me the same motion but for heavier oil conditions. Then I'd like to get a ball for when the conditions break down too much for the Hy-Road X. I'm not a fan of the Lit nor the White Hot Badger. Any help/suggestion would be much appreciated. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to tell you what my drilling specs are.

PS - I'd like to stay with the Storm line.

Thanks in advance!

As a step up you could go Idol Solid or ProMotion.  As a step down you could go with a Hustle HSB or a Hustle AU.

Your best bet is to speak to your local pro shop owner to see what the best fit would be.

As a step up, you could also go Hyroad Nano! That thing is a beast in oil!

I was actually going to add the Hyroad X to my arsenal as a step-down at one time, but when I saw many others throw it, I realized that on our conditions it was too over/under for my game!
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

+1 to finding a good PSO to make ball suggestions.

I will second that suggestion.

The reason why we are suggesting that you see your local pro shop operator is that hopefully he will know how you release the ball or he will be able to watch you if he doesn't already know.  Secondly, he will be aware of the local lane conditions that you are bowling on.  Both your release and the lane conditions are major factors in any ball decision, and we don't know those.

Thanks for all of the feedback everyone. I will work with my local pro shop to determine which option works best for me.

It doesn't seem that long ago when this site would bombard every person asking about what ball to add with everything from the strongest to the weakest ball as a solution.  There would be 5 pages of ball suggestions.

Nice to see the transition to pushing people to their pro shop for suggestions. It really is the best option.  Nothing wrong with getting information about people's experience with equipment, but using your pro shop to assist in decision making usually works out the best.

Well Done BR!!
