Can't wait to throw the Joy Ride!
« on: October 09, 2015, 05:49:54 PM »
Just received this ball today. Can't wait to throw it. Interesting thing I noticed right off the bat, the thickness of the shell is crazy thin.  It looks like it's about 1/4" thick.  This has me worried since all the 900 Global stuff I had were thin shelled and most if not all had issues with it. I'm trying to stay positive though.

1st time throwing my Joy Ride and I do have to say I really like this ball. I'm sure it will also get better with more games on it. I left it OOB. It's drilled 45 x 4 1/4 x 25.  This ball gets through the heads effortlessly.  When it gets to the hook phase it doesn't overreact and when it gets to the roll phase it does go through the pins well. I was able to kick out the 10 when I usually end of leaving flat 10's.

The Ride is my favorite ball right now.  How does the Joy Ride compare?

Unfortunately I didn't try the Ride so I would not be able to compare the two.  I may do some research on it and possibly get it unless it overlaps what i currently am throwing. Which is a lights out and a scream.  Even bowling in a first shift league, they are pretty dry.

For me using out of the box cover prep, they both cover about the same amount of boards, they just go about it differently. Joyride is cleaner with a little more snap on the backend while Ride is earlier with a smother motion.
