I love this ball but am not able to use it as often as id like because of the heavy oil conditions I'm subjected to. Has anyone tried buffing the finish down to a lower grit? Does it have a similar reaction and work better in heavier conditions?

Yes, if you scuff it with a 4000, 3000 or 2000 pad it will slow down sooner without losing its characteristic shape. Work your way down the grits until you get to the one that starts to make the ball look better to you. It is trial and error. But it is still a pearl, and will still have a pretty clean look through the fronts unless you are putting it down in a burn spot

Trying to force a ball to work on a condition it wasn't designed for generally doesn't work out so well. I'm sure you could make it work if you really wanted to, but it wouldn't be ideal. I'd recommend just using what you normally use for heavier oil and just using the CB when you get a chance.

I too get to barely use mine but I am the complete opposite, I can only use mine on heavy oil, which I don't get often. The thing absolutely moves, I find it odd you can't use it on heavy oil. What did you use before on the heavy oil conditions??

If you can't make a ball that's designed for med/hvy oil patterns stay on your side of the headpin, that tells me you must have a mechanical problem, or a lack of speed/revs.... Just my .002

I love my Code Black, comes back from everywhere. I actually have 2 overseas Codes coming to me, Code Black Limited with NRG solid cover and a Code Red Limited with the same NRG solid cover and i plan on polishing one. But yea, i cant wait for more to drop stateside. i may pick up 1 or 2 and keep NIB on the original Code Black for safe keeping.

Planning on it. Just received the Black Limited today. The Red Limited wont come to me until next month cause they get released end of this month.

I am not much for doing a lot of surface alterations, but knocking the shine off a pearl with 4000 is often a good idea. Not going to turn a ball into a heavy oiler, but it can help with the over/under that you often seen on out of the box pearls

Well the lanes are fairly new where I bowl and they're synthetic so many people are skidding through the pins. I'm usual use the Motiv Ghost in these coditions
