IQ Tour 30 vs IQ Tour Pearl
« on: January 16, 2016, 09:51:03 AM »
So, just curious...

The specs on both the IQ Tour Pearl and IQ Tour 30 are identical, how come there is a difference in reaction? Are the two coverstocks different even though it says it's the same on the website? Do coverstocks vary between each ball even though they're the same specs? Like for example; is the coverstock on the Rocket and Hy-Road different, even though they are both 'R2S Hybrid Reactive'?? Also, if I bought two of the same balls, would the two coverstocks be different?

Thoughts?

storm likes to update their covers to keep up with modern oils so that could explain it. also color makes a small difference. black for some reason always seems to be smoother than bright colors. in my opinion the iq30 is what the iq fusion should have been

Makes sense, I have two Hyroads (purchased at the same time) but came from two different batches, the two react a little bit differently.

a Also, what you said about darker colours being smoother seems legit, a lot of Storm's solid balls, or the solid part in hybrid balls tend to be dark colours. This alongside with the 'updating of covers'  could explain why some people see The IQ Tour react more like the original IQ Tour...
