thoughts on fired up
« on: November 23, 2005, 12:58:28 PM »
I have seen alot of posts about the fired up.  However, I need to know if this ball has faults.  I AM reading scores.  I want to know how the reaction is when the lane breaks down.  How the ball handles on a second shift league type stuff.  Can you get deep with the ball and still keep the same speed.  Those types things.

Jeffrevs if you could read this let me know if you know anything on this ball

My stats are 19.5 of the hand 360 rpms of the hand (C.A.T.S) i find that i don't have to throw the ball any slower to open up the lane, just as long as I give it side roll.  My house that is normally Med to dry i have no problem playing 18-5 while keeping my speed at 19.5.  I'm told that this is a remake of the Sun Storm, and makes people look like they have more hand than they really do.  if u have any questions feel free 2 msg me or AIM me at "Chris Says w00t" (zeros not capital o's)

agreed. I personally dont throw the Fired Up, but a good friend of mine does, and ive drilled a few for people at the shop and ive watched them. My friend is a lefty, and he tends to play straight up 2nd arrow. We were at a tourny a week ago and he was forced to play deeper and he didnt have to do anything. His speed was the same, his revs were the same, he just had to make sure he didnt let it get to far left or else it wouldnt kick out the 7

thanks for the info guys.  I just have a problem with going to storms website and I see the ball projection pathy for a tweener and it doesnt really look like a big backend ball.  That got me a bit worried.  I am ordering new equipment for the holidays and I had a choice between getting a fired up or a paradigm.  Just seeing one of our league bowlers throw a paradigm he throws the ball like a full roller and the ball hooks for days.  I just wanted to know how it compares.  THANKS GUYS YOU NEVER LET ME DOWN

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Paradigm and a Fired Up are two different beast. I bought both on the same day, so I guess I can give a good perspective. I LOVE my Fired Up, people think it is a strong ball when I throw it. I have speed and revs so I lean towards it more days then not. Only go to my Paradigm if the lane is to tight for my Fired Up. Problem is that more days then not, my Fired Up is the right match to the condition. I have used my Fired Up as deep as 30, so I have seen it come from deeper then deep to strike!

Very aggressive on the backend. I find its not very good for broken down lanes, however, unless you have natural speed (it has such a big backend that it starts its backend very early on broken down lanes). Anything medium is great the ball. For something with a little less on the backend and ability to play straighter on broken down lanes, go with an hrss pearl
