I have the Storm Hot Rod Hybrid that is drilled for an over/under house shot league that is super walled. <2.5X3.75> drilled for more roll and I believe that the two balls, hybrid and the HRPSP have similar, if not, identical RG 2.54 (Medium) and RG Differential: 0.033 (Medium Flare) weight blocks. Coverstocks differ quite a bit - Reactorâ„¢ Hybrid Reactive vs MONSOONâ„¢ Pearl Reactive.
I would expect the Hybrid to be more roll-e, and the Pro Stock Pearl to spin more through the heads and save energy for more backend. Especially, the way I have the Hybrid setup. I plan on ordering a Hot Rod Pro Stock Pearl and having it drilled either 5X5 or 4.5X5.5 to go long and arc strongly into the pocket.
Coverstocks: Solid/Pearl should hook earlier and Pearl should hook later.
Would be interesting to tinker with changing the surface of the Hybrid with more shine. Love it as it is.
I just love the Storm Hot Rod Hybrid but need something that will go a little farther down with not so much roll. The pearl should give cleaner control through the heads. Either way great ball would be interesting to drill another Hybrid to go long. The ball surface coverstocks generally tell a story. Like always depends on the setup.
