Hot Rod SS Pearl

My proshop recommended this as a light oil ball over some others I had in mind.  They drilled it up pin above bridge, CG in grip center to help get it down the lane and not jump too much on the back.  Needless to say, it's definitely NOT for very light oil!!  This past week during warm up, I noticed my Apocalypse was burning up on me.  I dropped to my Retro Roto Blue and the same thing.  WTF?!?!?! This hasn't happened prior to the lights coming on all season.  Hmmmmmm....What to do??  On a whim, I grabbed my HRSSP -- great idea on my part!!  It kept me in the pocket all night long which is something I've been struggling with come game 3 all season.  As long as I could keep my speed under control, that is.  Left a couple buckets when I got a little quick with it.  I think I'll give it a try when it's not so dry and see what kind of reaction I get.  It's a great ball with a chance to be a big part of my starting rotation!!

Jim,

  Your ball is on the way finally for the 17 th and the hrssp is a great ball, i know of everyone who owns liking it. It covers medium to lighter conditions, i would go with urethane or a lane 1 silver bullet for trully fried lanes imo.

Im confused??? Its definately not for light oil but yet it seems like that was what you were useing it on and haveing succes with it also.  . I am thinking of getting this ball to go along with my hybrid wich is one of the best i have owned in a long time.

I went to my proshop with a gift certificate and a need for a light oil ball.  He recommended the HRSSP rather than the Tropical I had been thinking of.  Thought I might like the roll/hit better.  It's not the ideal choice for light/dry, but you can make it work if you have to.  I have a Burgundy Hammer that I need to get redrilled for real dry.

That's a whole lot clearer way of saying that...as I thought the same thing as TS when I read your original e-mail.

I've got to agree that the HRSSP isn't the best dry lane ball out there.  Though I wonder why he didn't put you into a Hot Rod Hybrid instead...it's a better choice between the two, IMHO as I actually drilled a HRSSP to give me a some more finish as compared to the Hybrid.
