Title: Hot Wire Coverstock

I have a 16 pound Hot Wire. Storm list the coverstock as 1000-grit Matte. How do I maintain this coverstock as it is? What cleaner and polish should I use on this ball? I do have a Vertex spinner. Any help is appreciated.

Any decent bowling ball-specific cleanershould work well. The problem with matte finish balls like that is the surface needs to be sanded with 1000 grit sandpaper regularly to keep it at that level. Balls tends to wear to 600 grit and to absorb oil VERY easily at a matte finish.

grey scotch brite is also very close to 1000 grit but doesn't remove as much material, only dulls, so it may be a better solution.
I use grey for close to 1000 and maroon for close to 600.

I agree, in general, with stormin1: a grey nylon padd will help keep the HOt Wire in the general area of the stock finish. A quick swipe every other set of 3 games or maybe a hard swipe eveyr month. CLean the ball well, after every set, without sanding. Matte finishes absorb oil far too easily.
