I once owned a Too Hot, that ball was a good medium lighter conditioned ball. It provided nice length and still made a decent arc towards the pocket once it reached dry.
I had mine drilled pin over ring finger with the CG under the middle finger. Even on real light oil the Too Hot was a little too aggressive to use, but shined on fresh mediums and lighter.
The Sonic X Pearl is a good ball for light oil, with it's high RG and low differential the ball will barley move in any form of oil period. You may have to drill it super strong and tweak the cover in order to get more regular usage out of it.
My Sonic X was drilled pin over ring with the CG kicked one inch from there. I was able to play straighter, or with a slight belly up the second arrow even at 11pm during cosmic bowling.
I feel that it would be possible to own both of these balls, if you can get your hands on a Too Hot. You can drill it stronger to handle a wider medium range of conditions, while using the Sonic X on light oil and some spares.
As far as a comparison goes, both balls will get good to great length while the backend of the Too Hot can cover more boards than the Sonic X Pearl. Both balls will seem skid flippy in nature, unless you drill it otherwise.
