Original XFactor vs newer covers

Wasn't sure which was the best forum so I figured I would try here....

Given that yesterday's oil balls are pretty much today's light oil balls, how does the original XFactor cover compare to some of the current Storm/RotoGrip covers?  Specifically, Sonics (Sonic Boom, Ultra Sonic, Super Sonic) and the Super Sport line?

I'm asking because I just go hold of an original XFactor (great rolling ball BTW).  I don't want to take a chance with some of the newer light oil balls that may be just as strong or stronger than the XF.

Yes, it is a great ball.  Very versatile and carry was exceptional.  It rolled really well last night while practicing.

I just haven't thrown one in 3 years and wasn't sure how far Storm had progressed with their covers.  Ideally I would like something weaker than the XF but not squirly.

Go with the Hot rod ss pearl nice move down and backend is still there. I have a couple of regional pba friends using this ball with great success, i think fired up is way too close so dont go that route. If you can find one go with a Hot wire also one of the best storm cheap balls ever made.

Before I went down from 16 to 14 lbs, I bowled with an X-Factor often. Our center started flooding the lanes at the beginning of league season this fall, and my X-Factor was the only ball I still had that I could score with for a couple of weeks before the center changed the shot again.

If I could find another one, NIB, I might just buy and drill it. Definitely one of the best balls I've ever owned.

i love my x-factor. I shot my 299 with it. NO WAY A LIGHT OIL BALL. Lets just say this...no matter the type of oil, med or flooded, if there is at least 1 patch of dry and u hit it, this ball will HOOK. Mine isnt drilled aggressive at all, more lope in front, arc in back. Not skid snap like i wanted, but none the less good ball that ive used one everything and scored well from crap dirt shots, to what i call heavy shots.
