I have a crux and it seems like too much late in league blocks (I bowl 4 game league) I was thinking of adding the outcry with the same layout. Anybody have both of these pieces or an opinion of how this option would fit together.

That's a big jump to ball down to an outcry from a crux. Why not go to a tour solid, tour pearl, Asylum or Hysteria as options? What type of breakdown do you see? Does the heads really get dry and is there a lot of carry down?

I agree with all except the Asylum. That ball starts early and has a nice roll in the back. Seems too close to the Crux without a major difference in surface. I'm saying 500, 1,000, 2000, 3000, 4,000, then polish. My vote goes for the Hy-Road or IQ Tour Solid.

I ball down to a victory road after a high performance ball like the crux. So applicable storm balls out now are the hyroad solid or the IQ tour solid. I'd go hyroad solid and adjust surface as needed..I can play any part of the lane with my victory road solid. 8) you'll love it!

Seeing how an Asylum is similar to the Crux for me, I would second the Hy-Road Solid. I need a little more length when balling down (hy-road hybrid) but my rev rate is extreme. However, there have been times I can get deeper with my T-Road Solid.

Yes they get toasty quick. I have a tour pearl and it goes too long in the particular situation. They are simply drilled completely differently. May need to consider the hyroad option.

I also forgot to mention my comfort zone is playing outside so I figured going to something weaker with a similar layout might be a good fit.

As a side note: If the lanes are burning up that quick when you start with the Crux, why not start with something weaker that you would be able to use longer and chase the oil in? I see way too many people throw the highest performance balls on house shots then be completely lost when the lanes break down after a game or so. I prefer to start with a weaker ball and play straighter and open up my angles as the transition happens. Just my two cents. But as others said, jumping from a Crux to an Outcry is a pretty big leap.

I would go to an Asylum, but with a smoother cover than box. A true 4000 grit finish, or possibly storm step #1 rubbing compound would be good options. This would bridge the gap between your Tour pearl and Crux.
I usually try to stay away from recommending to use a solid as a step down from a hybrid. It's one thing if you are starting with a solid, and ball down to a weaker solid, but if you are at a low Rg high diff asymmetrical ball like the Crux, than a low to mid Rg with medium to high diff symmetrical but still a hybrid is a better way to go, at least in my opinion. The other option would be to go with a Fusion, with a slight bit of surface. The Asylum is one of the most under the radar, under-rated balls on the market today. It takes changes to the cover easily, and has a wider pattern coverage than a lot of balls on the market today.
Another option that would also be a step down from your Crux, but stronger than your IQ Tour pearl would be the Byte. The Byte would still give you a more defined shape like the Crux, but will not slow down as early, and give you more push down the lane.

you would have to adjust the layout for symetrical balls. a layout on a crux which is asymetrical will not be the same type of layout on an outcry which is symmetrical
