Dimension vs. VG
« on: January 14, 2009, 03:51:12 AM »
I have a Dimension and really haven't used it since July. Pulled it out Sunday and made $340, what a surprise.  I have mine drilled pin beneath ring finger, I believe 4 1/2 by 4 lay out.  I was thinking about buying a Virtual and wanted to know, how much more does the Virtual move, compared to the Dimension?  I'm looking at length, flip and drive to the pocket?  It will be used for heavy flooded lanes, with carry down.

Thanks....

If you haven't used the Dimension since July, you surely don't see "heavy flooded lanes with carry down".

But, the VG is a little stronger than the Dimension, but not enough so unless you're a serious tournament that sees a variety of heavier conditions.

As long as you stay in the oil line you'll get the length.  Mine doesn't have a real "flip" but it does have a hard, pronounced, continuous move to the pocket.  Not as angular as my Shift or Attitude, but not as arcy as my Dimension or Gravity.  At least for me. On dry heads it will hook at your feet & not so much on the back.  A lot of people confuse that w/the ball not hooking & going straight as an arrow.

Again, I agree with X.  The Virtual hooks more.  Put quite simply, the Virtual HOOKS more, but the Dimension ROLLS more.

It is a question of the shape you want downlane.  Dimension = roll/arc, Gravity = high response to friction.
