Title: Hy-Road Staff Review
Post by: allstarbowling-Joe on October 29, 2008, 12:26:20 PM
Box Specs:
15# 3oz, Top 3.22, Pin 2-2.5

Layout Selected:
Rico, Xhole at 5" thru CG, 13/16, 2 1/2 deep

PAP:
4 3/4 x 1" down (yes 1" down)

Speed:
13.5-14.0 mph

Initial Observations:
After watching Duke win with this piece on Sunday I was anxiously awaiting
its arrival.  Amazing it should show up on Monday right after a great day
on TV.   Due to my turtle like ball speed I wanted to select a layout I would
be able to use on the lane conditions I see most often, which is a THS but
on a 2nd shift shot.   I wanted something that wasnt going to go crazy on the
dry and would be a tad bit rolly.   With this layout the test games I have
bowled have shown it to be exactly this.   Very smooth roll and very
controlable on the backend.   The ball motion reminds me of my Strike Cell,
which also has a Hybrid cover.   I have a 2nd HyRoad that I am planning to
drill to compare a more aggressive layout to the Rico on this one.   I will
post more as more games are put onto this piece.

Thanks again and hope this helps,
Joe

Thanks for your review.
Do you know how is Norm Duke's ball drilled?
