What is the difference in ball reaction between the Cell and the Virtual Gravity ? Which is a stronger ball ? Which is the best condition to use the Cell on ? Thanks !

The Cell is a much smoother, rollier ball than the Virtual Gravity, and is a couple boards weaker.  The Cell reminds me a lot of the Dimension -- definately more of a control ball.  It loves oil, but is not meant for opening up the backend like the Virtual Gravity.  It's meant for smoothing out the pattern, controlling the jump off the friction, and driving hard through the pins even with a rollier reaction.

I own both and i have to say that the VG outhooks the cell by quite a bit imo. Last night the lanes were perfect for me to use my VG first then switch to the cell as soon as they dried up a bit.

Have either of you guys polisehd your Cell. I have at 1000 abralon and it outhooks my gravity shift, and needs as much oil to carry.

Dull, I agree with your observations that the Cell rolls smoother and has an arc type shape, rather than a well defined move on the backend, like the gravity shift.

I have been told that there is not much difference in the virtual gravity and gravity shift, only that the virtual is a few boards stronger. I have seen only one vg rolled and the shape of the arc seemed to be the same as the gravity. If this is so, I would not expect much difference in the cell and vg if both have the same surface.

Thanks for the replies...The Pro-shop is offering me a Plasma Cell but since the Virtual is a stronger ball then there is no requirement for me to pick up the offer.
Thanks !

I keep my Cell lightly polished by hand for use on a house shot since I can switch down to it after my dull, stronger drilled Dimension starts hooking too early.  At 1000 abralon, my Cell is almost unusably strong.  The last time I used it at that low of a finish was on the 50' ToC pattern and the similarly long Bradley Open tournament pattern.
