Anybody have these two and can share a comparison? In looking at the Bowling This Month Magazine comparison the #'s look pretty similar but you just can't go by that. I have the RF solid and like it a lot as it's very versatile, very controllable, and strong and continuous thru the pins.

There was a topic comparing the two a while back. I haven't thrown either so I can't offer any personal experience, but my opinion is that the Rapid Fire is more in the midlane and a smoother reaction overall. Thanks, I appreciate that. I agree with you that the RF is pretty smooth and I do like that. I'm looking for a similar roll and length but more angular in the back.

The Rapid Fire Solid didn't do much for me. It wasn't all that strong on the backend and was too condition specific for me. After 4 weeks, I gave up on it and sold it to another bowler that is a much better bowler and more consistant than I am as well as having more hand and revs than I. It didn't perform well for him either and he too was disappointed with the back-end. For him, the ball is also condition specific as it was for me. For whatever reason, I just seem to not had much luck with solid reisn balls with no filler. Tried 4 Legends balls that were solid reisn also and they didn't perform well for me either.

For me the rapid fire rolls earlier and arcs on back. Hyroad is skid flip for me. More overall hook than the rapid fire.

You can take this with a grain of salt but I'd say a Hy-Road drilled similarly but just a little longer would do the trick. Or even another Rapid Fire, especially if you don't keep your current one polished.

Rapid Fire is a backend beast for me, especially with the OOB finish. It calms down a bit and gets smoother after about 20 games or so. I have not thrown the Hy Road so I cannot compare directly, but my T-Road Pearl seems rollier for me, which some would call blasphemy on. In my opinion the Twin-V lends itself to skid flip, while the T-Road core is heavy rolling. The covers aren't really that much different, just a little bit of pearl in the Hy Road, and none in the RF, both have the same finish.
