The Big Hits were pretty weak entry level balls. Even Storms' current entry level balls, the Tropical Storms, run IMHO circles around it. Something similar can be found at Ebonite, though, the Tornadoes are pretty similar - if that's what he wants or needs. As step up, I'd try a Street Rod Pearl - same cover as the Tropical, but witha true lower RG core that might create more roll and punch for him in the back end. If you can find one, an older Jolt Pearl might IMHO also be a sensible choice.

I would suggest a Street Rod Solid finished at 4000 and drilled relatively weak.  

Often when people who have a hard time rolling the ball (young, old, physical impairments, etc.) are looking for a newer piece of equipment they end up getting low end pearl stuff from Storm or others.  The problem with that is that even the lowest end pearl ball will snap when it hits the dry - often uncontrollably for these bowlers.  In my experience it is better to drill up a solid ball and drill it so that it is controllable and even rolls out a bit.  Control is the key here.

The Big Hit Pearl is an exception to this since the core is almost non-existent and the cover is mild to say the least.  There are no current Storm balls that are even close IMO.
