Anarchy vs. Mutant Cell Pearl
« on: April 11, 2011, 08:45:56 AM »

Hey, haven't been around bowling much lately like in the past.

My question is: Is the Anarchy really all that it's hyped up to be? And how would it compare to the Mutant Cell Pearl?

Thanks!

I really like my Anarchy, provided there's a little friction to get it going. And that's even after knocking the polish off. It's usually at its best after one or two games have broken the shot down and I need to move a little left and bump it off the friction. That being said, it's also worked very well for me on a 35' sport shot, and on a little lighter volume fresh house shot. Pretty versatile ball, and because it IS very strong for a pearl, it lets me move my feet a little deeper to chase fresh head oil without worrying about the ball laboring back to the pocket.

I have not thrown a Mutant Cell Pearl, but I do have a Mutant Cell. I have not matched up particularly well with the solid Mutant Cell for some reason. It has times when it shines (usually when I just need something to create more entry angle than anything else will give me), but for the most part I really fight it giving me an over/under reaction, and it seems the core doesn't respond well to errant shots. If I get my thumb out of it a little slow and don't get it revving up as much as other shots, it'll lope down the lane so much I leave a 2 pin or the bucket.

i like the mutant cell cores better than the cell cores.. picked up a MCP this xmas, love that ball..
has alot forgiveness for me anyway...

couple guys i bowl with seen me tearing it up with that ball so they got 1.. (none have the revs i do) they didnt like that ball. 2 sold it after like 15ish games the other found use for it at 4000 + polish.
that person has an anarchy and its his new fav ball!!  i think the MCP is weaker than what its supo to be.

both have big cores but i would say (from what iv seen and used) the anarchy is stronger. will be able to get deeper with it than the mcp. and will be a bit more angular.

Funny how that works. I, on the other hand, find the original Cell to be one of the most forgiving bowling balls I have ever thrown. That's probably a reason why I've shot more honor scores with it than anything else I've ever thrown.

I have both, and it probably depends on what you want out of the core.  Anarchy is much lower rg core and is rollier than MCP.  For me it is more versatile, although I have hit a run of conditions lately where I do not get a good look with Anarchy.  MCP is very condition specific for me.  If I have enough back end it acts like a monster.  On longer patterns, even house shots with lots of dry to the right, it labors turning the corner.
