Marvel Pearl

I was looking forward to the Marvel pearl because I felt I needed a true pearl between my Anarchy and Victory Road. At times the Anarchy would be too aggressive or not flippy enough down lane and the Victory Road was not quite enough. 

I drilled the Marvel pearl similar to the Anarchy, pin up above my middle finger with a small hole. This layout has become one of my favorites. As the bowling balls have gotten stronger, this layout gives me the length to get the ball through the front of the lane but still gives me enough control down lane to avoid the over/under reaction I can sometimes get with pin up layouts.

When I first threw the Marvel pearl out of the box I was surprised by the length I got. After a few shots I decided to put some surface on it. I hit it by hand with a 2000 abralon pad to take some of the polish off it, what a difference that made. The ball still got through the fronts easily but now picked up in the mid lane where I like to see it pick up and went nuts down lane. I could not believe how strong this ball is down lane. 

This is exactly what I was looking for, a true pearl to fit between my Anarchy and VR. It is more skid/flippy than the Anarchy and more aggressive than the VR. This ball reminds me of a cross between the Agent and X-Factor. If you are looking for a strong pearl, the Marvel pearl is it.
