Help need replacement for Hot Rod ?
« on: September 08, 2009, 12:43:01 PM »
Hey all you Storm folks out there. I need a little help finding a good replacement for my Storm Hot Rod from the current Storm line up. HR has a crack and it is spreading and the season just started. I'm looking for a ball to use on THS medium oil to 39'. These lanes dry up pretty fast so nothing too strong will work.

I am a stroker with medium speed and revs. I've given a bit of thought too waiting for the Reign when it comes out? I will be greateful for any info, thoughts or information you all can provide.

I currently have the following eguipment:
Roto Grip Cell@2000 abralon.
Storm Gravity Shift@1500 oob.
Storm Rapid Fire@2000 abralon.
Storm Hot Rod@1000 abralon.
Storm Ice Spare ball.
Live life every day to the fullest and Love the ones your with for you will never know when you might loose them!

Sorry about that...I was thinking of another ball.  However, I know there are still some of these out there...I see them on Ebay once and a while.  Heck I still see a Too Hot or an Ultra Hot from time to time too.  Well I see a Too Hot way more often since I've got one stashed away at home.

If you can't find a Hot Rod...I might replace it with a Street Rod Pearl or a Roto-Grip Mars...better yet a Neptune (recently discontinued).

The Fast or the Reign are your 2 closest, w/an edge to the Fast.  The Reign will be a touch stronger than both the Hot Rod & the Fast.

Both will be more backend then the HR. The HR is one very tame ball by today's standards.

I have a 15 lb NIB Street Rod Pearl I'd be willing to part with.  PM me if you are interested.  It should be the closest thing you will find new from Storm to a Hot Rod.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who responded to my op. I think the Street Rod pearl may be what I go with for this league on these lanes. Bowl well and have fun.

The Hot Rod is probably half way between a Street Rod Pearl and a Tropical Storm in today's environment. I have one and I use it at 4000 Abralon matte as step down from my polished Blue/Green Centaur and believe me That's MILD!

The Fast is and the Reign must be so far above the Hot Rod it's not even funny.

In its day, the HR was much stronger but today's a different day.
