Question on layout
« on: January 21, 2009, 11:09:21 AM »
For a bowler whose release is forward roll with high speed, medium to low rev and mainly play up the board..which is a better layout ? a pin above or pin below ring finger ? Thanks !

Without having an actual axis point to go off of, I would say to do a standard label drill (pin next to the ring finger and the cg center grip).  This should help you get the ball to roll for you with the faster ball speed and yet still be controllable.  That is my take on it.

Usually pin down will get the ball rolling sooner and get you more overall hook, I prefer pin up with pretty fast speed at least 18.5 mph and medium rev rate.

My preferred area is the 6-10 board upfront with changing angles down lane at the break point, nothing special to watch me that is for sure.

You are probably a high tracker with that much forward roll, so pin down will sometimes help you out. Use Morich's forward drilling's for any newer equipment with an asymmetrical core, it will help you undertand the why and if's better.

Real world play will be the real answer though, i find myself changing my layout's to mainly pin up because of my style of play.
