I might be up for trying out a Storm....

Given my arsenal, what would you recommend I try out?  I know it's small, but I'm working on it!

Sling Blade
Zone Classic
Big Deal
Vortex I
Apex Addiction

General statement, depending on your stats and type of lanes you have:

Ace
Atomic Charge
Screamin Banshee
Hybrid
Spare ball

Very open, due to not knowing enough info to do a good job, but there's a place for you to research balls and to start from.

Good Luck

Doh!  Sorry, I meant to put in a little about my style and stats, just forgot.    I bowl in leagues on old wood lanes that start out slick and end up all over the place, so I need variety in my arsenal.  I have tweener ball speed with low to medium revs, and I like to play in the track area or outside, though I intend to start to learn how to play a little deeper with more snap soon.  The Vertigo sure LOOKS cool!

you say thats its a slick shot. Well, i think that if this is what u encounter, then i would go with the Atomic Charge. That ball will give a very nice predictable strong arc on the back, it will bite through the slick stuff, and will be able to play throuigh the sloppy patterns.

Agreed Completely. This ball is much stronger than most people give it credit for. It hooks more than my Thing Lives in most cases, and is perfect for slick backends, though it will get start to skid in extreme carrydown. Also performs great in sloppy midlane conditions...

The Vertigo is some what over rated for hook, if you want hook I would go with the Ace.

My teammates Vertigo doesn't hook either.  Not for heavy oil volumes, medium at best.  He tried sanding it, scuffing it.  Best if you use it for medium lanes conditions

While on this same topic, How many balls should one have in their arsenal?

I just started back into bowling after taking about 10 years away from it. I had an old Eurothane that I had to retire. I currently have a Screaming Banshee as my main ball, and and big hit drilled for a spare ball... And that's it. I realize I need a more agressive ball for medium to heavy oil.

Heavy Oil- nothing
Medium Oil to Medium-light oil - Screaming banshee
Dry- Big hit
Spare -Big hit

So what ball should I look at to upgrade and improve my arsenal. I'm a tweener lefty. Avg 185.

Thanks everyone! I hear a lot of good things about the Vertigo and the original X factor, Probably a little easier to find the Vertigo... Then dang I can grab a vertigo and maybe a storm polyester for my spare ball and I'm good to go for a while.  Sweet!
