Initial impressions of Natural
« on: August 02, 2009, 10:10:49 AM »
Just got my Natural punched up last week.  Pin between and just above fingers, CG kicked out.  15 lbs, pin 2-3" 3.25 oz (more than I usually get!!) TW.  Decent depth weight hole.

Bought this ball for fried tournament shots and for practice (lanes often fried then, too).  First tried the ball on a slightly beaten shot on synthetics (though not what I would call fried).  The ball was really smooth at box finish but I thought it didn't push through the heads (especially when thrown from the outside) as well as I had hoped.  But was impressed at how smooth was the reaction.

Took the finish to 4000 and bowled again on slightly chewed up THS.  Very smooth, not much area under those conditions.  But ball motion was better and more predictable and carry was better.  Played 10-6, just slightly slower than my typical 17 mph ball speed, medium revs straight up the back.  215 first game, though had other equipment in that game, too (had several objectives for that practice session, getting a feel for this ball only one).  But 4000 seemed to be a much better surface than box.

Am satisfied this will be a good ball for fried conditions.  Will take it to a tournament in a couple weeks where the lanes are notoriously toasted.  Will post a full review afterward.

First impressions--nice, smooth, good carry, should be a good tournament/spare ball, and a great practice ball (I'd rather not have area in practice, frankly).  And that is a good value.
