Reign of Fire
« on: February 04, 2010, 11:55:20 PM »
Well I received my Reign of Fire from Buddies Pro Shop on Tuesday and I must say that this is the strongest piece of equipment I've ever thrown. I've had a problem lately because of my speed getting inside early on a fresh pattern, but man I could throw this ball with reckless abandon from way inside on a fresh pattern and it still bumped flawlessly back to the pocket.

I could only use it for a few frames of the first game before I ran out of lane, which is fine since I intended to use this for sport shots anyways, but it's always nice to play with the new toy.

Just a note that this is a heavy oil house shot. Our center got pegged by the local association for putting down a pattern that wasn't legal. So, now that they got caught, the last month and a half has been the great flood at our center, but the ball still performed flawlessly.

For me the ball hooked more than the Invasion, and at the price point you can't really beat it.

Going by what I see in your video the ROF is very early, yet very lazy on the backend.  I''''''''d be very interested to see how it performs on a heavier shot at 4000 abralon.  1000 abralon is light years away from 4000 abralon.  I''''''''m not saying the ROF is a dud.  I just refuse to believe that it is a bigger beast than the Invasion at the same finish on a heavier pattern.  At least without video evidence.

Believe me this ball is fantastic late, it''''''''s just the house I choose to make the video in. It''''''''s one of the few houses in the area that outside five is in play on a heavy house shot, so I like to get way left and get the ball to the 3/4 board relatively quickly because with the amount of oil on the lane the ball won''''t dive to much towards the headpin.

The first time I used this ball at my regular league house the breakpoint was at the 7 board where the reflection of the pins came across the lane so about 40-45 feet down the lane, and it would still make it back flawlessly. This ball is pretty much un-fair, I can throw it anywhere I want it and just wait for it to come back to the pocket.

I will be buying a second one.
