I drilled the pin out of my ring finger 4 inch pin 3 1/4 oz top and put the mb half way between my thumb and VAL. My rev rate is about 325 and my ball speed is about 17. My pap is 4 1/2 and 5/8 up. This put the pin about 4 1/2 inches from my pap and the mb about 4 inches from my pap.

What will be the best lane condition for this ball and what reaction will I see? Sharp break point or a controlled move to the pocket?

I have a Morich Awesome Finish drilled very similar to this, OOB is very close between the 2 ball's. My Morich is 4000 abralon polished but I see a predictable skid/snap out of this ball on a fresh THS. I would expect to see the Invasion being fairly close. I have about the same kind of spec's as you for style only you having a few more rev's then myself. I'm in the 225-275 rev rate. I normally use this ball on a fresh ths (your lane's are different then where I bowl at), I normally play 25 at the arrow's out to about 8 at my break point.

The Invasion is a heavy oil ball. If you can find it, and with that layout you will see an early and strong midlane read, lots of flare and a ball that will have a strong and quick backend move.

I have a Venom drilled similar and that''s what I get out of it. It happens to be polished though, so I can use it on a variety of conditions.

You have a good sport shot ball there.

So let me get this straight. You first bought the ball for no reason other than just to buy it. You then put some random layout in it, in which you drilled the pin out completely changing the dynamics of the core with no reason in mind. And THEN you are gonna try to figure out what it should be used for? Should have just flushed the $200 down the toilet and saved yourself some time.

I can see that neither of you know me very well.

I studied the ball from those who posted here on BRs. I throw a couple of VGs. They said that the Invasion would give me the same length and a little more on the back end. The Invasion is a better swing ball then the VG imo.

The condition I'm throwing it on is a pattern of a fair amount of oil put down in the AM. Not very much use on the lanes all day and then the put a top coat of oil by re-oiling the heads. The VG just wasn't turning the corner enough for me. So when I heard the Invasion was a little stronger, I ordered the ball. Someone on the Storm Forum attached some drill sheets and I printed them and studied them. The drill pattern I came up with was an attempt to get some length and a continous backend.

Everything seemed to work but I know I need to get some games on the Invasion. But the length was there, surprisingly, and the back end motiuon was stronger the the VGs.

So now only time will tell.
