Title: IQ Tour Fusion or Hyroad?
Post by: AYo415 on March 12, 2014, 10:50:25 AM
I am looking for a good benchmark ball. I currently am using a Hammer Taboo Blue/Silver and a Cobalt Vibe. Both are drilled up above the bridge and now looking for something in between. I really considered getting the Hyroad, but after reading reviews and watching videos on the IQ Tour Fusion, I am torn between the two... What are your thoughts? I plan to drill whichever one I get with the pin under the ring as I find that is a great layout for a benchmark for me. Thank you.

List your specs: Rev rate; Speed; Condition to be played on; PSA if you know it. What you are looking for the ball to do.

Rev rate is around 350. Speed is around 16mph. For league we just bowl on a house shot, but for tournaments it varies between house to sport patterns. I am looking for a ball below my Taboo and above my Vibe. I can just the Taboo all three games or switch to the Vibe, but looking for something that is inbetween so I dont have to "work so hard"... Haha.

Well......if the choice is between the Hy-Road and the IQ Tour Fusion, let it be known that the Hy-Road is considered to be the benchmark of all benchmark balls! A very controllable, but hard hitting ball useable on multiple conditions.

Having said all that, I would still choose the IQ Tour fusion because I love the motion of that ball. I know that this is a very controllable piece that will still turn the corner hard, and hit!! depending on how you lay it out! But that's just me.

I see both balls alot in league. both very similar in terms of overall "strength." Both can handle a wide range of lane conditions. Hy-road has smooth continuous back end reaction while the fusion is definately more angular.  Choose whatever reaction your looking for.  Im thinking about picking up a Fusion myself. Love the IQ pearl and Marvel S. Those centripital cores seem to rev up nicely for me:)
